Ok, so I’m really excited to post this recipe because it’s DELICIOUS and will definitely help you with your ice cream cravings. I have regular ice cream ever now and then (I can’t go without Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked) but sometimes I want a healthier version of ice cream. There are healthy versions of ice cream such as Arctic Zero and Halo Top but they can be pretty pricey and this recipe is super quick and simple to make. Feel free to add different ingredients to get the desired flavor you’d like. I love chocolate so I always make chocolate but you could also make strawberry, vanilla or mango.
2 frozen bananas, cut up into slices before freezing
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp cacao powder
Optional: 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use Unico)
Mix all ingredients in a high-powered blender and enjoy!
Macros: 49C/3F/4P (not including protein powder)
Tips & Tricks:
-I add additional almond milk if my blender is having trouble blending.
-If you want a thicker smoothie, use less almond milk; however, I recommend having a high powered blender as it can be difficult to blend in a normal one.
-You can mix other ingredients into your nice cream to get different flavors such as frozen strawberries, mango, etc.
-You can put your nice cream in the freezer for about 10-20 minutes for a thicker, more ice-cream like consistency; however, if you’re like me and can’t wait, this step isn’t necessary. 🙂
